ROLE SUMMARY
HTA Lead is a non-customer facing role that acts as Healthcare Technology Assessment /Health Economic Outcome Research (HTA / HEOR) expert to internal stakeholders and external customers. The purpose of this role is to support the team to attain the ideal reimbursement status and product uptake through:
Developing and leveraging of clinical, economic and humanistic evidence to demonstrate value of Pfizer breakthroughs.
The support of pricing negotiation strategies.
Engaging with external stakeholders.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the customization of global and/or development of the local HTA/ HEOR materials, models, data leveraging all available research for HTA dossiers.
Delivers value story to support product formulary listing and reimbursement objectives to external stakeholders via different channels.
Anticipate customers evidence needs for product / indication reimbursement across the product life cycle, creating and evolving value propositions as needed, and then ensuring data is resourced, generated and made available on timely basis to support those messages.
Understands HTAs and public and private payers processes and payer value drivers. Uses this to provide payer insights into Pfizer access and commercial planning.
Uses deep knowledge of local HTA and payer processes to shape the environment to improve access at system level.
Actively leads the conversation through engagement in the scientific discourse of health economics and outcomes research for Pfizer via submission of manuscript to peer reviewed journals or letters to the auditors for publications both directly (as an author) or indirectly (supporting key thought leaders).
Works with cross-functional team members in development and execution of market access plans and medical or marketing activities as appropriate.
Key Deliverables/Metrics
HTA dossier to support product reimbursement when applicable.
Planning and execution of reimbursement and HEOR strategy (including local data development as needed) across therapeutic areas and for current and future breakthroughs.
Local adaption of Global HTA/HEOR material (eg: value dossier and proposition, cost effectiveness and budget impact models) where possible and development of local material / models / data if product value propositions are not relevant to local markets.
Work closely with the market access colleague and reimbursement manager to develop the reimbursement plans and implementation including price negotiation by demonstrating PE data to the relevant stakeholders as applicable.
Alignment of HEOR activities with overall access and brand strategy.
Monitoring and measuring the success of reimbursement strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare science (or equivalent).
Post graduate degree in Healtheconomics or pharmacoeconomics.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or health economics domain is required.
Broad Therapeutic Area experience is an advantage.
Experience of local laws & regulations and reimbursement process is required.
Proficient in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage.
