Structural Inspector (Roads)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspects site conditions to ensure suitability for the designed permanent works.

• Gives practical advice on constructional matters.

• Inspects construction, including temporary, works to ensure compliance with approved methods and contract requirements.

• Interfaces with client and contractor’s staff to determine and verify project requirements.

• Prepares and maintains inspection reports and site records.

• Performs civil and structural tests, such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregation, graduation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression, lines and grades surveys, bolt torques and concrete coring.

• Provides general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.

• Verifies equipment alignment and balancing operations.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/College.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in inspection of road construction works.

• Dubai work experience is strongly preferred.

• Knowledge and experience using computer software.

• Strong analytic capabilities and the ability to work independently.

• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with constructionrelated processes related to area of assignment.
