Material Inspector

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Material Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to control of construction materials.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Serves as the focal point for the scheduling and control of construction materials and equipment at the job site.

• Establishes material and equipment inventory and tracking systems.

• Establishes warehouse procedures for the control of piping, valves, fittings and electrical, instrumentation, and consumable supplies and tools.

• Expedites both field and home office purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

• Oversees receiving, off-loading, storage, and issuance of construction materials.

• May be responsible for field purchasing.

• May trains and provide technical guidance for personnel in use of DMCS entry and reports.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in construction-related field and typically 4+ years of experience in field construction is required.

• Experience as a Construction Material Coordinator on a large civil/structural and/or industrial construction project is preferred.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

• Requires a working knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a familiarity with industry practices. Proficient PC skills including a familiarity with various software used for inventory control, such as Document and Materials Controls System (DMCS), are also required.
