Junior Design Engineer – Sewerage

Dubai

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Junior Engineer – Sewerage to join our team! In this role you will get to perform various engineering and design assignment related to waster water project.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the civil engineering field.

• Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project. The engineer will be required to carry out CAD related tasks while using special 3D software and model creation.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

• The engineer shall be able to independently carry out designs of gravity networks for the collection, conveyance and disposal of wastewater, under the guidance of senior engineer. The engineer shall have basic experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for gravity networks, design reports and Bentley SewerCAD / SewerGems, Infoworks CS or related software with support from Senior Engineer.

• Shall be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/ or large government projects. Shall be conversant with Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ ADWEA, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD and other relevant authorities within gulf region.

• Shall be aware about the requirements for the hydraulic design for the Pump stations and rising mains.

• Shall have basis experience in creating utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region like RTA (Dubai), DMT (Abu Dhabi), MOMRA (KSA), etc.

• Shall support, with suitable guidance from Senior engineers, the preparation of detailed technical, commercial and Life Cycle Cost Analysis of various technical alternatives. Shall be able to support in preparing the presentations for the Clients.

• Shall have experience of liaising with service provider agencies for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Requires basic engineering knowledge in the design of gravity networks for the collection, conveyance, and disposal of wastewater. In addition, should have:

  Familiarity with CAD (Civil 3D) and GIS

• Hands on experience of design and analysis of sewer systems using design and analysis software including SewerCAD, SewerGEMS, InfoSWMM and Inforworks CS

• Basic knowledge of sewer pump stations and design of sewer rising mains.

• Basic/academic knowledge of planning, designing and construction of centralized and decentralized wastewater systems will be added advantage

• We are looking for a team player with good inter-personal, communication and report writing skills
