Job Description:

As our firm continues to grow, we continue to be on the lookout for great talent. We are currently seeking a GIS Specialist to join us in our Dubai office to become part of a creative and collaborative team that creates places that matter. The GIS Specialist serves as a resource to the design staff when it comes to the learning and support of design technologies required to support the firm’s growth for all design disciplines, specifically GIS, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit and other CAD/ BIM applications.

Responsibilities:

• Data Model Design and Development
• Generate and maintain published GIS layers.
• Digitize, create, maintain, display and update GIS databases, coverages, and linkages to various GIS databases.
• Create maps and other graphical representations of data using GIS software.
• Quality control on CAD data and its completeness before importing to Geodatabase.
• Assist in the development of GIS project plans.
• Assist Masterplanning team to track information such as Land use, GFA, Populations, etc.
• Import CAD data to GIS data models e.g., LSDM (Land Survey Data Model).
• Diagnosing and “troubleshooting” problems experienced with the use of GIS and related software.
• Convert data and edit geodatabases to support client projects.
• Import and Export CAD/ BIM/ GIS data as per Studio requirements.
• Develops standards for GIS deployment and use within the Studio.
• Develop, implement and enforce GIS related QA/QC procedures.
• Provides GIS-related technical guidance and assistance to project teams.
• Confirming that Permitting, Planning, and Asset Management systems must have the latest GIS data.
• Interface with other departments or outside agencies regarding future GIS projects.
• Ensure that Studio staff using GIS has training and technical support as needed.
• Provide on Job Training/ Support for other GIS Users within the Studio.
• Support Digital Design Manager on training new users in desktop GIS and web-based systems.
• Understand emerging GIS technologies and their application to improve Studio services.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Esri GIS desktop/online software and data management.
• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Latest Esri Suites experience like ArcGIS Pro and extensions Data Reviewer etc.
• Knowledge and experience of CAD design and drawing production.
• Knowledge and experience of Civil 3d/ AutoCAD Map 3D – parcels, schema creation.
• Experience in Land Base/Master Planning Data Model Design (Logical & Physical).
• Master Planning Data Management- Data Loading, Spatial Index tuning, database management system (DBMS) statistics.
• Experience with collection, storage, analysis, manipulation, and presentation of complex geographical information using GIS, CAD and Photogrammetric applications.
