Job Summary.

The Purchasing & Logistics Specialist will follow and implement policies covering the selection of suppliers, performance measurement, commodity purchase and liaison with other internal businesses and key suppliers to ensure NOV CAPS Completion Tools supply chain operates effectively. Your expertise in identifying and implementing efficient manufacturing planning and scheduling methodologies will improve on-time delivery and reduce manufacturing lead-times to secure growth in line with the business strategy. Your ability to co-ordinate with a cross-functional team whilst ensuring alignment across the business will be crucial to success of the planning function.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify opportunities in product cost and Leadtime improvements for the CT operations
• Work with identified internal and 3rd party sources (with assistance from engineering and quality) to establish proper component/assembly qualification
• Work with central CT supply chain team and 3rd party suppliers to set up pricing agreements to lower overall COGS
• Assist with establishing vendor managed inventory supply agreements to limit exposure to excess inventory
• Assist in identifying troubled suppliers (in terms of quality, delivery, and/or cost) and alternative replacements to strengthen overall supply chain
• Proactively communicate with all key stakeholders any deviations of manufacturing planning schedule from customer required dates and the proposed resolutions required.
• Support engineering on product changes and new product introductions that impact the manufacturing and supply chain processes.
• Supplier management and continuous evolvement of KPI’s (performance, quality, delivery, cost and communications)
• Managing and overseeing the whole spectrum of logistics organization all over the region, thereby ensuring the most efficient transportation and logistics management are in place.
• Working with regional and global Quality function to ensure supplier quality requirements are adhered to.
• Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by Completion Tools executive group

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree business, operations management, supply chain management or related discipline.
• Recommended 5 years’ experience and knowledge in supply chain and business management.
• Understanding of manufacturing planning involving low volume high variation in heavy industry Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Good understanding of Supply Chain Management, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving.
