ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a global group level role in the company, and its purpose is to administer and monitor all business projects (and sub projects) ensuring they are managed and executed efficiently and effectively. The candidate will guide and mentor the Project Management team ensuring all projects are reported transparently and adhere to the planned cost, time, quality and benefit realization. The PMO is expected to also enhance the delivery standards within the department and govern the stakeholder alignment across the group ensuring the correct prioritisation is in place in line with the company’s strategic and commercial objectives.

Main responsibilities of the PMO include: programme vision and blueprint development; benefits and quality management; stakeholder management; portfolio management; programme, tranche and project planning including milestone management; and risk and issue management. Integral to delivering these responsibilities will be financial management; maintaining risks, issues, assumptions, actions logs; resource forecasting; dependency management; and programme reporting.

Operationally, the Global PMO provides and enables project prioritisation, management information, financial reporting, resource planning, decision making, and recruitment forecasting.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor all projects within the group and compile detailed reporting to the Executive Team
• Define and maintain executive dashboards
• Manage and compile KPI information
• Establish frameworks and standards for Programme and Project Management and Contribute to continued improvement in the PMO
• Update and maintain group-wide Risk Log, Action Log, Decisions Log, and Issue Register
• Ensure cross-group dependencies are managed and the dependency log is accurately maintained.
• Coordinate project closure to distil good practice and ensure lessons learned are logged
• Define and embed cross-group project control and governance.
• Maintain accurate processes and procedures in Confluence
• Manage the communication of progress to the Executive Team as well as core internal and external stakeholders and escalating issues as necessary
• Build a culture of high performance and engagement; through effective leadership; mentoring, developing, and retaining top talent
• Oversee the development of projects and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company’s standards.
• Advising the Executive Team and CEO on the right course of action based on company priorities while presenting the facts in a clear and concise manner

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate has exceptionally high ownership, excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work with agility in a fast-paced environment. They would also be insanely focused on demonstrating excellence in service delivery and problem-solving, breaking down complex information into understandable and actionable items.

Other qualifications include:

• Proven track record for planning, executing, controlling and closing projects, and the ability to manage a project and its components simultaneously with minimal supervision
• Experience of managing a PMO office
• Experience of managing the complete lifecycle of a project with project teams of 5 to 25 people
• Experience of project management using AGILE/SCRUM , PMP or PRINCE2 methodology (or equivalent) for medium to large sized projects
• Strong skills in creating and maintaining project and programme plans, including risks, actions, issues, dependencies
• Professional certification (such as PMI, PMP or equivalent certification)
• Highly efficient in resource planning and tasks assignment
• Knowledge of benefits and dependency mapping, risk management and resource planning
• Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS project, Jira, Confluence, Smart sheets
• At least 10 years proven working experience in leading cross functional projects, preferably in an international environment and in the mobile/web technology sector
• Excellent written/oral communication skills for reports and presentations
• Diplomatic ability to influence others at all levels of the business
• Strong and demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders
• Ability to competently mediate disagreements and negotiate agreeable resolutions
• Experience of Programme and project level financial management
• Experience of defining and delivering benefits realisation for projects and programme
• Solid technical understanding – Cloud technologies, Infrastructure, Software, SAAS, Web-based systems, Microservices
