Under the guidance of the project resident engineer or MEP Lead, the Mechanical Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for conducting systematic inspections to ensure that construction practices adhere to established standards and regulations. This role involves monitoring various construction activities and performing ongoing assessments to verify compliance with relevant codes and specifications. The specialist will document any discrepancies and may assist in formulating appropriate corrective actions.Key Responsibilities:Conduct thorough inspections of underground piping systems to verify integrity, bedding, and slope.Validate piping configurations through P&ID verification and execute hydraulic or pressure testing.Assess equipment alignment and balancing tasks, contributing to the creation of quality control documentation and procedures.Support the Mechanical Engineer or MEP Lead in fulfilling contractual obligations on-site.Engage with the community, particularly residents and business stakeholders, to minimize construction-related disruptions.Oversee and evaluate all mechanical installations, ensuring compliance with contractual and quality standards.Coordinate with contractors and utility authorities regarding necessary connections.Ensure adherence to project quality control protocols during construction supervision and seek opportunities for enhancement.Monitor and synchronize activities of all contractors within the mechanical discipline.Process daily inspection requests for works and materials.Assist the Mechanical Engineer in reviewing construction submissions from project initiation to completion.Collaborate with construction management to identify and mitigate potential hazards that could impact safety or environmental health.Interpret and review discipline-specific design drawings and specifications to ensure accurate technical execution.Provide solutions for technical engineering challenges within the assigned discipline, coordinating implementation to maintain project momentum.Oversee material procurement and delivery timelines to support construction schedules.Verify that received materials conform to specifications and quality standards.Organize and compile discipline-specific data for final project documentation and reporting.Maintain records, progress reports, and other necessary documentation as required.Perform additional responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.A minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience, with at least 7 years in a similar role on large-scale projects.Experience in the regional market is advantageous.Preferred registration with ADDC and ADM.A professional capable of managing and coordinating specialized activities or teams of moderate complexity.
