McDermott Hiring for Senior Accountant-Statutory Reporting Job at Dubai Full Time

Job Overview:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing accurate, proactive and timely invoicing, cash collection, reporting and forecast. This role is the custodian of cash collection (including billing and forecasting), chasing up for payment and monitoring, and maintenance of bank accounts of the regional business unit.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Supervise preparation of standalone and consolidated statutory accounts for legal entities ensuring these are fully audited, signed off by all parties and filed with the relevant authorities before the due date.
• Supervise preparation, review, sign off and filing of all tax returns for each of the relevant Jurisdictions before due date.
• Liaise with the bidding department and prepare/review the tax calculations and ensure all taxes are included/considered in the bid.
• Review of calculation of corporate tax liability, on a statutory basis, in respect of all actual and forecast taxable income or expense.
• Ensure payment of advance taxes, where relevant, and make settlement of all tax liabilities is done on timely basis.
• Liaise with professional advisors to agree tax assessment amounts and obtain tax clearance certificates as soon as possible after filing the relevant tax returns.
• Review reconciliations of General Ledger indirect tax accounts on a monthly basis.
• Review of Withholding, VAT, and Service Tax returns to satisfy all legislative reporting requirements and arrange payment of all, amounts falling due in the respective jurisdictions within due date.
• Assesses the overall process and control environment; Suggests improvements where required; and, Implements changes to improve overall quality, timeliness, and relevance of financial information;
• Oversee maintenance of all tax and related accounting records on a jurisdictional and/or entity basis as per local requirement.
• Organize workload and supervise a small team of qualified and part qualified accountants.
• Assist with departmental tasks as may be assigned on an Ad Hoc basis from time to time.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies and procedures, tax & regulatory requirements, SoX, etc;
• Aid in the timely resolution of internal and external audit issues as it arise.
• Actively support various special projects as required by the management.
• Leads a functional team of 4 or 5 people.
• Liaise with Corporate Tax Groups, Project Management & Project Accounting Teams, Tax consultants, Professional Accountants & Statutory Bodies.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• 5+ years of experience preferably with big 4. Extensive experience in IFRS reporting is must.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA,).
