Responsibilities
- Develop new and enhanced concrete admixtures for any/all mix designs
- Optimize cost performance of existing products
- Carry out laboratory/concrete tests and technical field evaluations associated with approved development projects (e.g. Green/ECO concrete) and new products
- Conduct testing according to local and international standards (BS EN, ISO, ASTM, etc.) and adapt test methods if necessary
- Customer engagement – Visit customers in line with sales and marketing to understand their technical requirements. Revert with feedback to sales to allow for market penetration
- Provide technical support to customers & sales (product and mix design recommendation, application procedures, etc.)
- Ensure customer complaints are investigated in a prompt and efficient manner and the findings are reported properly.
- Organize cement, aggregates and other key raw material as well as competitors’ samples to conduct concrete tests
- Evaluate MBCC products and benchmark them against 3rd party products available in the market
- Create, review, update and approve technical information for admixture products (e.g. TDS, method statements, application procedure, etc.)
- Accurate and regular electronic entry of technical files (Technical laboratory reports, site reports, presentations, etc.) into local system (AFON, data bases such as SharePoint, etc.), in compliance with the department filing guidelines
- Ensure laboratory safety
- Management and upgrading the skills of direct reportees.
Other Tasks:
- Provide training and demonstration workshops to both internal (Master Builders Solutions) and external customers
- Maintain 5S practices
- Any other duties deemed appropriate and necessary through the course of business and as identified from time to time.
- In conjunction with the Commercial Managers/ AS Managers, develop new customers.
Experience
- Min. 2 years of experience in a multinational environment, preferably in admixture development or a similar business environment
- Very good knowledge of admixture formulations, concrete mix design and optimization, testing and construction practices
- Industry and/or Country specific requirements:
- Construction / civil engineering
- Chemical engineering
- Technical & Professional Knowledge:
- Demonstrated knowledge of concrete technology
- Understanding of laboratory procedures and test methods
- Microsoft Office
- SAP
- SharePoint
- Command of English language, written and spoken
- Arabic/Hindi (advantageous), written and spoken
Education
- Concrete Technologist (ACI/ICT/MICT/ACT)
- Degree in Materials Science/Chemistry/Engineering
