JOB SUMMARY
This position will be part of the Dubai continent office for the accurate internal and external financial reporting of Marriott’s subsidiaries within the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. The key responsibilities includes to support the Corporate and Statutory department on day to day basis by ensuring completeness of legal subsidiary ledgers to which he/she is assigned and carrying out cash management duties.
This role will work closely with the Corporate Statutory Accounting team based in Dubai and will serve as a contact for entity questions/issues for stakeholders in MEA region.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- Accounting Qualification or Studying towards an Accounting qualification.
- Bachelors degree in accounting and/or finance
- Ideally minimum 3 years of Accounting experience
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Work, Projects, and Policies
- Participates in the annual audit process and assists team in ensuring statutory financial statements are filed in a timely manner
- Assists in completing period-end closing procedures and management reporting as specified
- Reviews activity on foreign entity balances on a monthly basis
- Processes treasury wires for bank accounts in MEA and assists with the monthly cash management process
- Maintains a strong accounting & operational control environment to safeguard assets to improve operations
- Ensure that Accounts Payable/Wires and Expenses entered into Peoplesoft on a timely basis
- Performs bank reconciliation for MEA entity balances
- Ensures compliance with standard and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs )
- Reconciles, reviews, researches and takes ownership in order to clear overdue debt
- Works closely with AHS on cash application, bad debt provision, customer set-up and any other accounts receivable related issues
- Communicates financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired behaviors
- Leverages technology and effectively uses information systems and tools to generate desired reports
- Ensures that the P&L is accurate (i.e. costs are properly matched to costs and are recorded in the proper accounts)
- Effectively leverages centralized accounting processes via OFB and Marriott Business Services
- Performs other duties as assigned by the department

- Maintains complete and up-to-date information to ensure accurate reporting.
