Marlin Selection Hiring for SENIOR OPERATOR – OIL Job at Dubai Full Time

A great opportunity to join a Oil Trading firm based in Dubai as a Senior Operator.

Your duties will include:

1. Deal with cargo and freight counterparties, terminals and vessels on a regular basis regarding all post-deal activities ensuring all necessary operational information is passed on in good time and documentary requirements are met.

2. Make cargo and vessel nominations, prepare and send voyage orders and monitor progress of vessels.

3. Appoint independent inspectors, expeditors and ships agents.

4. Comes with solid blending knowledge.

5. Ensure that all Operational Information is entered into relevant systems in timely fashion and ensure that adequate records are kept to meet the company’s legal and fiscal obligations.

6. Ensure that any necessary financial security is in place before releases.

7. Participate in out of hours coverage arrangements.

8. Liaise with charterers to ensure smooth operations, avoid supply disruption and minimize demurrage costs.

9. Monitoring and managing inventory.

10. Provide ideas to optimize on operations.

11. Calculate demurrage and prepare claims.

12. Draft contracts for traders.

13. Guides and supervises 3 junior operators.

14. Reports to the Head of Ops.

Candidate Profile Characteristics:

• 10 to 12+ years of experience in the Operations Dpt. of a commodity trading company;

• Preferably have a logistics or engineering and/or commercial academic background (at bachelor’s degree level or equivalent) and/or relevant practical experience;

• Solid Blending experience is a must;

• Have a customer-focused, commercial and analytical mindset;

• Have a pro-active approach to solving problems;

• Strong numerical skills;

• Prior knowledge and experience of trading and shipping operations is a plus;

• Prior experience in working in a fast-moving commercial trading environment;

• Reliable team player;

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, interested in building good stakeholder relationships.
