Marlin Selection Hiring for MIDDLE OFFICE ANALYST – COMMODITIES – DUBAI Job at Dubai Full Time

We are a Global Commodities Trading House based in Dubai and currently have a middle office analyst role that we need to hire for.

Your Duties will include:

• Trade capture and reconciliation of physical and paper trades (futures & swaps).
• Daily reconciliation of derivative transactions between CTRM system, clearing account statement and broker confirmations. Flagging upcoming contract expiry for open positions.
• Daily position monitoring and reporting to traders, highlighting exposure and hedging requirements.
• Daily Profit and Loss calculations, providing explanatory commentary including validation against market moves, operational updates, and capital movement charges.
• Deal Economics Review: independently calculate and justify the economics applied to each trading strategy.
• Daily capture and accrual of secondary costs.
• Daily interaction with traders and operations dept on physical logistics including quality, dates, demurrage, claims and costs. Tracking of physical trade movements and ensuring integrity of / updating the CTRM system.
• Hedging Support: liaising and reporting hedging strategies directly with traders.
• Coordinating with finance control on accounting matters at Month/Year end in alignment and reporting with accounting principles.
• Ad-hoc trader support, risk analysis and market analysis. Aid in optimizing opportunities within their books and analyzing implied positions.
• VaR; review reports to ensure desk exposure is correct and within trading mandates.

Knowledge skills and abilities

• Educated to Bachelors/Master’s degree level.
• Preferably 1-3 years’ experience within commodity industry.
• Highly numerate with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal.
• Should be meticulous, diligent, control-focused
• Performs under pressure.
• Should be proficient in Excel.
• Experience with coding desirable.
