Function: Finance

Location: Majid Al Futtaim Holding, Corporate Head Office

Job Purpose:
The Candidate’s main objective shall be to support the Holding Tax Team in providing tax inputs in group’s strategic initiatives, meeting tax compliance requirements at Holding/ Capital level and providing assistance and guidance to Operating Companies (OpCos) on tax matters as required.

Job Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Support the Holding tax team to undertake all the below:
• Undertake all applicable compliances including ESR, CbCR, VAT, upcoming Corporate tax, BEPS Pillar Two etc. with help of external consultants, as required
• Support in Holding led-tax projects for eg. implementation of OECD compliant transfer pricing policies
• Assist in preparation of global transfer pricing documentation
• Support OpCos in assessing tax and transfer pricing impact on new transactions and provide timely advise as required
• Review of documentation which includes contracts, invoices etc. to determine the correct tax treatments
• Work closely with the consultants for review and finalization of tax related filings to authorities
• Prepare the back-up data i.e. schedules, working papers in relations to all taxes compliances and manage tax data as per the Group tax guidelines
• Coordinate with internal teams/ OpCos to undertake the required process changes as suggested by the consultants in order to rectify the subsequent tax compliance
• Provide updates on relevant global/ regional tax developments and highlight their impact on the group
• Liaise with the tax authorities for litigations and other tax compliance/ representation
• Interact with business and finance teams to understand the tax needs and provide any tax support
• Implement any changes in the IT/ ERP systems to align to the various tax requirements
• Implement any group-wide tax automation projects

Measure of Success – Illustrative KPIs:

• Timely and accurate tax compliances
• Assistance in tax matters to OpCo teams
• Ensure that the company is tax audit ready
• Support other tax regions (as required)
• Timely follow up on tax regulations update and ensure implementation as per published law guidelines
• Maintain proper archiving for all tax submissions working files
• Align on any accounting treatment from tax compliance point of view, with tax consultant as needed

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

• Skillset (job specific technical skills and behavioral competencies needed)
• Good practical and technical tax knowledge in direct taxes including Transfer Pricing, ESR and Pillar Two
• Good written and oral communication skills – Fluent English
• Advance MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Analytical and numerical skills.

Minimum experience

• Minimum 5-6 years of similar experience, having worked in a Tax environment in a large organization,
• managing tax operational matters.
• Having work in a Big 4 Audit firm is recommended or any tax consulting role
• Minimum education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting is a must.
• Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/ ACCA/ CPA/ ICAEW)
