Role Purpose:

To provide the leadership, and operational direction to cinema management teams across the appointed territory. Ensure customer service standards are delivered while monitoring business costs. Support expansion both in existing and new cinema projects.

Provide leadership, build the capabilities, connect with and motivate team members both on an individual level and as part of the team. Protect and enhance the VOX culture through management of direct reports and influence over cinema teams to support the company mission.

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Operations

• Daily routine of a snap shot review of the previous days sales and attendance numbers first thing in the morning. An email to CM probing the numbers; to be followed up with a phone call later in the day. Each Thursday a review of the just completed weeks sales and attendance numbers published by finance.
• Where the AM is managing the pre-opening of a site they should manage and make weekly checks on the CM progress and adherence to Site Opening Plan as in the Openings Manual
• Conduct with each CM a structured monthly 1-1 business review meeting to the agreed AM agenda. Minutes and action plan within 24 hours of meeting to site and director.
• Conduct an business meeting with Director/ AM/CM/ACM once per quarter (with invited guests)
• Attend a monthly structured 1-1 business review with Operations Director to an agreed agenda. Minutes and Action plan within 24 hours.
• Annual leave plan for the cinemas to be reviewed and approved (attention to peak/ low trade and blackout periods)

Health & Safety

• Complete a full compliance audit of the site FOH/ BOH / Finance. Audit to be reviewed with CM and an action plan agreed and issued. Minutes and actions circulated to H&S Manager and Facilities Manager

Team Management

• Attend Cinema Staff meetings in first week of the month
• It is critical to the success of the AM that they are highly visible and approachable in the operations to all staff and management. This will require frequent visits in and out of an office hour’s routine. The month should be planned in advance so that effective visits are scheduled in evenings and weekends. Normal meetings and observations should be scheduled at these times plus attention to customer interaction. Two days per week maximum in Head Office.
• Organise personal rota of cinema visits for the month to ensure that all trading periods are touched and observed, One week night per week and two weekend days per month would be a minimum. Self-diary management should be applied to ensure work balance is maintained
• There should be one ‘social ‘visit to a cinema in your area per month to observe operation from customer perspective. A quick visit report should follow within 24 hours.

Industry

• From time to time complete a competitor cinema visit and file a report on business standards , offer , Food and Beverage , trends

Definition of Success

• EDBITA of AED 50mil for allocated region
• Allocated regions within the UAE and international geographies
• Financial KPIs’ – Revenue Targets , Merchandising Profit Targets , Food Cost and profitability targets , Spend Per Head targets, labour Cost

• A minimum of 10+years relevant, demonstrated experience and proven track record in Cinema, F&B or Leisure & Entertainment similar industry in a management role

• Graduate in any discipline
