Associate Specialist, Payroll (Tax) – 1 Year Contract
This position is responsible for: –
Timely & accurate deposits and Reporting of US Federal/State/Local/County; Unemployment & back up withholding taxes;
providing customer service on Payroll tax issues to business and employees;
performing Tax research, registration and correspondence;
assisting with State registrations and Multi-State reporting;
providing support for tax audits;
performing system testing of new authorities, wage types, tax law changes;
driving process improvements and automation;
handling special projects as assigned.
Required qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or business equivalent
Knowledge of federal, state, local payroll tax regulations
SAP experience in the HR/Payroll module will be an advantage but experience in a leading ERP system is desirable
Good communication skills and at least 2 years experience of working within a payroll or tax environment.
Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and payroll taxes
Strong facilitator capable of influencing certain levels of the organization
High level of energy, self-direction, motivation, follow-through and issue ownership
Advanced skills in Word, Excel and other database applications
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment
Strong analytical and problem solving and continuous process improvement skills
Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays
Demonstrated strong networking skills
Demonstrated ability to manage conflict/resolution
