About the Job:

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic Director of Operations to join the Emirates Academy. As part of the Executive Committee, you work closely with the Managing Director to ensure the various operational departments function successfully, efficiently and confirm the high service standards expected in premier private education.

• Leads the organizational and administrative functions in all operational areas of The Emirates Academy.
• Directs and supervises the activities of all on-campus facilities and operational services including student boarding and commercial lodging, administration, food & beverage outlets, events, and leisure services.
• Assists in planning and implementing programs, policies, and procedures to ensure that the Academy standards are met.
• Actively participates in the preparation of the annual business plan, budget, and capital expenditures.
• Develop and control operational budgets to promote profitability and ensure the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters.
• Directs and actively involves himself in seeking to secure new or alternative revenue streams for the Academy.
• Ensures that a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming are strictly observed and followed.
• Advocates the Emirates Academy’s mission statements, guiding principles, hallmarks, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures all health & safety, fire prevention, and evacuation systems and practices are adhered to.
• Initiate best practices for efficient and effective workflow and process automation.
• Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.

In addition to the above, you will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, further postgrad education is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience equivalent to and relevant to the position.
• Previous experience in private hospitality education and/or upscale hotel operations management is a strong advantage.
• Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results
• In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles e.g., supply chain, finance, customer service, CRM, etc.
• Outstanding communication and people skills, naturally leading-by-example
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities, time management, decision-making, and negotiating skills.
• Knowledge of the industry’s legal rules and guidelines, industry latest trends, and best practices.
• Fluent in English and a second fluently spoken language.
• Strong commercial acumen, preferably with experience in Food and Beverage or Rooms Management
