About the Job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Engineering to join the Jumeirah Emirates Towers. The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the property and assets are maintained in the highest order through the implementation of the Jumeirah Brand standards and to develop strategies for the future growth of the Engineering and Complex department achieves each goals and effectively contributes to the guest experience. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Supervises and directs the daily activities of the Resident Engineers Maintenance Managers.
• Monitors engineering activities to ensure adherence to established policies, operating procedures and standards.
• Prepares comprehensive budgets and forecasts to ensure the efficient and cost effective operation of the department.
• Oversees the implementation, co-ordination and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System). This includes the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM and work order system.
• Handles any grievances, suggestions and complaints forwarded by colleagues and recommends appropriate action.
• Responsible for appraising and formalising career development / training plans for direct reports.
• Submits a comprehensive monthly report to the General Manager/Group Director of Engineering.
• Be familiar with and comply with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes and procedures.
• To promote the Jumeirah culture and values of the Company.
• To partake in occupational health and safety initiatives and form part of the SBU’s occupational health and safety committee.
• To be an active member of the Sustainability Committee of the Hotel and be familiar with the local Authority requirements.
• To perform other duties that management may from time to time reasonably require.
• Check on completed repair and maintenance works to ensure that established standards have been met.
• Request support and direction as needed.

About you:

In order to be considered for this role you will have at least minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role in a Tower Block/High Rise Five star Hotel or Office Block environment. Experience in fundamentals of HVAC control with Green Building approach and in Fire & Life Safety systems.

You will have excellent written and spoken English skills, additional language is advantage. Knowledge of hotel operating systems is a must. Your experience in handling guest requests and exceeding their expectations would be regarded as essential.

Should be able to quickly learn and adapt to a new work environment.
