This position is to centrally support the branch level of operation for connecting HVAC equipment to the OpenBlue digital platform. You will be performing most of the daily activities using computers and programs that assists in connecting various types of HVAC equipment including but not limited to chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air handling units and roof top units.

How you will do it

Computer hardware and applications will be provided along with phone applications needed to support branch operations. You will be expected to operate and apply various applications to diagnose and report on equipment connectivity status. Training will be provided to ensure success. You will be expected to log into a phone support queue to provide technical support to customers (internal and external) in addition to supporting customers via Salesforce support tickets.

As a member of the Connected Offerings Support (COS) Team you will work with field technicians and technical support agents from various Johnson Controls divisions. The future will be passionate about artificial intelligence and sophisticated machine learning. You will help build the future of our diagnostics platform that supports our service organization to enable Johnson Controls to be on the cutting edge of an efficient, technically sophisticated service delivery business.

• Support field technicians while establishing the initial connection to JCI and other non JCI manufactured equipment
• Participate in conference calls with branch teams and customers to review the connectivity standards and security requirements for establishing the initial connection
• Use the Connected Equipment Portal to review connectivity status of all equipment, resolve is needed to restore the connection and drive actions plans to reconnect
• Perform dashboard reviews to ensure accurate widget functionality, accuracy of data, response time and accuracy of metrics
• Generate connectivity reports with observations and recommendations on the performance and the application of the Connected Equipment Portal
• Reviews reports generated by others to ensure quality and accuracy of the applications
• Direct day to day activities related to data analysis, report generation, and field support
• Train other team members and field technicians on installation procedures for various type of systems
• Give to research efforts on new equipment and system types, and identify and approve new connectivity techniques to expand the scope and quality of connected services – provide feedback to Engineering on new connectivity options
• Work with software developers and IT resources to improve the quality, automate the delivery, and increase the reliability of connected services applications
• Prepare, write and/or approve internal and field process documentation on the startup and delivery of connected services
• Maintain a global connectable chiller matrix that defines the points available, the FDDs and other metrics it supports, and any special considerations needed

What we look for

3 + years building automation systems – installation and servicing, with an emphasis on HVAC Equipment is required

• Bachelor’s degree: electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, controls systems or military equivalent
• Basic computer application knowledge: Microsoft Suite: Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive
• Extensive knowledge in communication protocols including but not limited to Ethernet, BACnet, LON and Modbus
• Experience using routers and cellular modems for building and cloud connectivity
• Able to tackle sophisticated systems problems
• Able to communicate expertly with customers at all levels, internal and external
• Proven leadership abilities, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a high paced service environment with shifting priorities
• Ability to work in a cross functional environment to develop and deploy new services
• Some travel may be required (less than 10% anticipated)

• IT certifications including Cybersecurity, Cisco, MCP, A+, N+, S+, Nicet
• 5+ year working in a Remote Operations Center
