What you will do

Buyer will handle the execution of strategic sourcing, procurement operations and selection of suppliers for primarily field project purchases to support the business unit needs for sub-contracting and the related direct materials. A key deliverable of this role is to ensure sites are efficiently implementing our Commodity strategies to influence a greater percentage of spend to increase year on year savings and supplier performance management. Participates in tender-to-projects life cycle to handle third party sourcing and procurement activities, applying standard processes to these projects to achieve year on year saving, compliance, and efficiency.

The Buyer will evaluate sources of supply and develop optimal pricing methodology, warranty, and product/service performance requirements. Resolve and apply the most strategic supply chain model to acquire the vital products and services at the most favorable price for the Company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers. Identify new sources of supply, and potentially acceptable new products/technologies. Establish/maintain professional relationships with suppliers/partners, based on the highest ethical business practices as set forth in JCI policies and procedures.

How you will do it

• Demonstrate strong skills to drive procurement strategies to achieve best in class delivery, quality, cost, and compliance in country to align to business outcome
• Drives procurement process on suppliers’ framework (identification, research, evaluation, selection, management) and management of supplier database including strategic suppliers
• Drives Spend Analysis and ensures clear Spend Reporting by reclassifying vendor spend to the proper taxonomy.
• Responsible for facilitating RFP Enablement with Category Managers, this includes working with the data team to extract data for the RFP, data crunching, coordinating/following up with vendors, receiving quotes & facilitating bid analysis/scenario modeling to accelerate decision making for RFPs.
• Reviews and negotiates Contracts and SOWs for the assigned categories.
• Generates financial/savings reporting using our preferred tool (Wave).
• Drive standard pricing in an effective way
• Lead from procurement in projects/product life cycle to lead all 3rd party sourcing and procurement activities, applying standard methodologies to these projects to achieve year on year saving by demonstrating on “spend”, focus on compliance and efficiency
• Manages daily procurement transactions that involve the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, including but not limited to new supplier approval, vendor master maintenance, PO execution, delivery of goods and services and three-way matching of invoice/PO/delivery note
• Works across functional teams and manage expectations effectively, in pursuit of sustainable best in class strategic sourcing practices aligned to global direction
• Upholds internal and external policies, regulations, and laws
• Implements continuous improvement and cost reduction culture, using on standard process across regions
• Experience in running logistics team for the daily logistics operations including the shipment of purchased goods, inventory management and customs will be an advantage
• Support other initiatives (local / regional level) that were driven by EMEA Procurement and Transformation Team whenever it is required
• Ensure alignment between category management team and the unique/specific needs of customer
• Implement category strategies and associated actions to achieve cost reduction goals, including PO-to-PO (Purchasing Order) reductions and rebates
• Control and improve the traceability and clarity of purchasing related savings and lead cost saving tracking
• Support efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development
• Perform supplier spend analysis including spend patterns by category/ region and supplier
• Works with Internal Stakeholders to develop and handle service level agreements with suppliers
• Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures and policies
• Effectively develops tools, processes and reports to communicate, analyze and make effective recommendations in key areas of responsibility
• Assist with integration of JCI policies/procedures to incorporate standard processes and ensure cost effective and efficient operations for the combined organization. Assist with identifying alliance opportunities and execution of new initiatives
• Project leader for various transformation initiatives. Work closely with vendors and internal partners to implement new programs/processes to drive increased value
• Assist in upcoming RFPs by completing all vital analysis to award business
• Realizes and drives Initiatives to improve our YOY Savings and Trade Working Capital (TWC).
• Reviews, approves, or rejects Purchase Requisition. Ensures that PRs are aligned with our Global Procurement policy and that the information in the PR enables future analysis for spend management/enhancement
• Assists in effectively resolving PTP issues with our Vendors

What we look for

• Preferably, a bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or finance. 3 – 5 proven experience in supply chain management and/or purchasing
• Ability to perform in a diverse and matrix organization
• Ability to work with all levels of management

• Deep understanding of RFx processes. Good understanding of a Source-To-Pay process; including knowledge of Category Management principles
• Ability to perform Spend Analysis and rationalize tail spend

• Ability to bring teams together to achieve targets and goals (including cost savings

• Added advantage with procurement project management and suppliers / subcons management experience in the Controls, Fire & Security Industry
• Sourcing Experience in negotiating and establishing MSA & SCA with subcontractors for Servicing scope of work
• Experience in working with ERP, purchasing tools and process & contract T&C
• Experience in working in matrix organization and change environment
• Self-motivated and open minded with passion to challenge status quo and work towards continuous improvement
• Collaborative attitude with strong partner leadership skills
