Business Need / Purpose of Role

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) reporting to the Public Relations Supervisor, shall be primarily responsible to complete all online seaman and cruise visa applications, FTA online applications, and to produce all Arabic letters directed to authorities. The incumbent shall also ensure prompt attendance of customer and service requirements, monitor ad-hoc, as well as urgent requirements after office hours.

Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Operations

• Applying seaman visa online applications for Fujairah, Sharjah, Dubai and KhorFakkan immigration in a timely and accurate manner.
• Applying cruise visas online in a timely and accurate manner.
• Verify the validity and accuracy of crew and personnel documents received, flag any discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Inchcape vessel operator/ crew desk team for all the documents required for applying the seaman and cruise visas.
• Applying for new / renewal or cancellation of crew seaman card with Federal Transport Authorities online
• Typing all Arabic letters as required for Marine Services Dubai and as directed.
• Assisting in all Arabic translation required for Marine Services team, Dubai and as directed.
• Applying all online of inward & outward permissions of the vessels with Federal Transport Authorities (FTA)/MOEI.
• Applying online of extension to stay & one voyage permit of the vessels with Federal Transport Authorities (FTA)/ MOEI.
• Attending FTA, Coast Guard, Immigration offices for necessary approvals and discussions.
• Attending Immigration at airport terminal for clearance of overstay personnel and solve issues of crew related matters
• Applying and following up with FTA/MOEI for issuance of Ships navigation License.
• Maintaining accurate records of visas, navigation licenses and seamen cards Assist/ relieve other Marine PRO as required.

• Liaise and coordinate with government agencies

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• A foundational knowledge of Shipping Operations.
• Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Being able to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.
• Balance multiple tasks, changing priorities & operate within a deadline-oriented environment.
• Possess strong time management and organizational skills
• Communication and building rapport with all kinds of people
• Authentic (doing the right thing even when no one is looking)
• Have a global perspective and be progressive thinking
• Excellent Arabic skills- Read, Write & Speak.
• Attention to detail, Observant and solution oriented.
• Proven skills in administrative and numerate skills, able to use initiative to solve day-to-day problems in a professional and methodical manner

Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses

Education/Experience:

• 5+ years hands on experience of Public Relations position with the UAE
• Adequate exposure of the UAE government agencies relations is required, the ideal personality should currently be based in the UAE.
• An Emirati would be preferred but an Expatriate with the required skills would be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field would be appreciated
