Job Description
The Sales Manager for the Middle East Film & Comic Con is responsible for driving the sponsorship and exhibition sales strategy for the convention and being a proactive contributor to ensure the achievement and exceeding of sales revenue targets with the team in accordance with the sales plan. The ideal candidate for this role is an effective communicator and active listener who can proactively stay on the pulse of the regional and international pop culture space across various key segments – including branded merchandise, toys, collectibles, comics, art, anime, cosplay, entertainment venues and gaming. They will work collaboratively with the Show Director, Content, Marketing AND Delivery Team to transform ideas and strategies into tangible results.
The Sales Manager will immerse themselves in the pop culture space, provide a high level of prospecting, relationship building and account management to deliver unique concepts for existing and prospective MEFCC clients. Key responsibilities will include selling exhibition space, booths, sponsorship, branding and activation opportunities, as well as develop win-win partnerships that help clients achieve their business objectives while supporting the convention.

Achievement of sales revenue targets within timelines Achievement of KPI’s as set out by the Portfolio – phone time, f2f meetings, systems Exhibitor satisfaction levels and retention via proactive communication Timely & accurate reporting of sales results, pipeline and activities Rebooked sales revenue

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Sales
Drive through the achievement of sales revenue/profit targets for the convention and pop culture related digital products Continue to build strong relationships with current and potential clients both pre and post event Manage and maintain strong relationships with pop culture retailers, distributors, agents and other channel partners to ensure the achievement of revenue targets for each event Manage and maintain existing policies and procedures for the team Work proactively as a team member sharing ideas and contributing to the overall growth of the convention
Event Management
Set up a sound and workable project plan for MEFCC with clearly defined timelines Plan, prepare and monitor annual budgets for the event with strict adherence to revenue and cost ensuring achievement of profit Work closely with the Show Director to develop and optimise the convention floorplan and features Liaise with the Sales Administrator and Operations Manager to ensure that all logistical and operational aspects of the event and sponsorship elements are met Ensure collection of payments by regular communication and coordination with the Accounts department
General
Continually monitor and research the market Identify and attend competitive events where appropriate Database clean and build Campaign Management in Salesforce Completion of weekly sales reports and daily updates of the event pipelines Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility
Qualifications
Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential
Previous experience with a demonstrated successful sales record of high value sales activity in conferences, exhibitions or digital sales. Full understanding of event sales cycles Speaks and writes clearly and fluently in English to both individuals and groups Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel Commercial awareness
Desirable
Proficient in the use of Salesforce Knowledge / familiarity with the local pop culture vendor and product ecosystem Team player – a strong communicator who listens actively and can work collaboratively
