Office IT Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
• Provide first-line technical support to end-users for hardware and software-related issues.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist with the setup, configuration, and installation of hardware and software.
Hardware Management:
• Manage and maintain computer systems, laptops, printers, scanners, and other office equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on hardware components.
Software Management:
• Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems.
• Troubleshoot software-related issues and provide guidance to end-users.
Network Management:
• Configure and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure optimal performance.
Security and Data Protection:
• Implement and enforce security measures to protect against unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
• Conduct regular backups of critical data and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
• Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory, configurations, and licenses.
• Create and update technical documentation, guides, and knowledge base articles for end-users.
User Training and Education:
• Provide training sessions to educate employees on IT best practices, security awareness, and efficient use of software and tools.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement and support IT solutions.
• Communicate effectively with end-users to understand and address their IT needs.
Stay Informed and Up-to-Date:
• Keep up with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the organization remains technologically competitive.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in providing IT support and troubleshooting in an office environment.
• Strong knowledge of hardware components, operating systems, and software applications.
• Familiarity with networking protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in using IT management tools and software.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
