The award-winning Marina Social Dubai Restaurant & Bar is looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our fantastic team. Head Chef Nicholas Tomei creates a series of menus offering classic British and modern Mediterranean influenced dishes. The à la carte menu offers sharing dishes or a specially curated six courses menu reflecting seasonally changing dishes. The restaurant stands for creativity and comfort within a relaxed, social atmosphere against the backdrop of the stunning panoramic views of the waterfront, overlooking the buzzing Dubai Marina.
Your day to day
• Ensuring the consistency in the preparation of all food items for a la carte menus according to restaurant recipes and standards. • In this key role you willbe adaptable, supporting all aspects of kitchen management as required by the Head Chef, but also working closely with the rest of the junior team, actively supporting them and quality checking their daily tasks to help ensure a smooth operation is achieved • Liaise daily with Head Chef & Restaurant GM to keep open lines of communication regarding guest feedback and requests. • Maintain and enhance the food products through creative menu development and presentation. • HACCP guidelines & regulations to ensure your reports are trained & follow the same and to make effective duty rosters for the team. • You must show a willingness and ability to lead, motivate, train and encourage the kitchen team to support the learning & development of others.
What we need from you
The challenging role of Junior Sous Chef should be able to demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience within free standing restaurant operations in a modern vibe British-Mediterranean restaurant with a proven track record in working on your way up to your current position. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role and should demonstrate a genuine passion for food, cooking and the hospitality industry as a whole with positivity and enthusiasm. Ideally, to successfully fill this role, you should have notable skills & experience in Italian & Mediterranean cuisines; ability to work well in a fast paced environment, work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a multinational team.
