Overview:

The Associate Division Counsel will support and will report to the Regional Division Counsel, who has the responsibility for all legal matters in the following regions: Italy, Greece, Malta, Switzerland (Italian speaking) & the Middle East. Middle East support will be primary focus with additional support for other regions.

The role is located in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). There is an opportunity to work from home part of the week. Some global travel may be required as part of the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Regional Division Counsel to draft, revise and negotiate software licence agreements, SaaS agreements, sale agreements, services and maintenance agreements, framework agreements, reseller/partnership/distribution agreements, sub-contractor agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other agreements related to the provision of software and services.
  • Assisting with reviewing and advising on tender documents, project proposals and statements of work, advising project teams on the interpretation of contracts, and resolving disputes.
  • Assisting with the updating of standard terms and conditions and other templates and maintaining document management systems.
  • Assisting the Regional Division Counsel to develop and implement legal and compliance training for stakeholders.
  • Ensuring customer contracts comply with corporate and divisional policies and maintaining acceptable risk standards.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, and/or service providers to expedite contract negotiations.
  • Staying up to date with legal and industry developments.
  • Assisting with, and engaging with external counsel on, corporate, employment and property matters for regional entities.
  • Assisting with maintenance and renewals of company insurance.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified solicitor/attorney specialising in commercial law (preferably under the laws of the UAE and/or Saudi Arabia) with 2-4 years post qualification experience, however, applications from any level of post qualification experience will be considered.
  • Strong in-house commercial experience within the technology industry.
  • Strong written and oral skills in English.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting complex regional and global contracts.
  • Ability to produce consistently high-quality work with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and administration skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels, including sales representatives, project and support managers, suppliers and senior management.
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure.
  • Commercial, solution-oriented, enthusiastic and driven.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Self-sufficient and proactive with strong business acumen.
