The Network & Security Administrator reporting to the Head of IT infrastructure & Operations, will be intensely involved in Network administrations and daily operations, improvements, advice, work on the problems and contribute to the projects implementations.
This position will require on-call responsibilities for the duties or functions routinely performed. Additionally, maintenance and configuration activities that affect service availability routinely require work outside of regular business hours. Candidate Personal Characteristics is a solution-orientated approach combined with strong problem-solving skills; the ideal candidate will be expected to work with minimal supervision. The ability to work well within a small multi-cultural team with a focus on results and a philosophy of getting the job done right the first time.
Responsibilities:
Ensure helpdesk tickets are all attended within the SLA requirements
- Use ticketing system to administer support of assigned incidents, changes and problems;
- Install, configure, maintain and repair: cloud services, networking equipment;
- Resolve escalated Tier 2-3 services.
- Own standardized proactive maintenance for assigned equipment.
- Actively participate department’s response protocols for critical infrastructure.
- Maintain documentation of responsibility areas.
- Support cybersecurity hygiene commitments of the organization as outlined by IT leadership.
- Aid with Tier-1 support coverage during staffing gaps.
- Review best practices and present recommendations to IT leadership.
- Required Network Skills: Strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of:
- Azure Network design and administration (vNets, Load Balancing and NSGs)
- Azure Site Recovery & Backup
- Multi-site firewall Access Control List configuration
- Setup and install of firewalls, switches, and access points
- Basic network design for security, business requirements and performance
- Cisco Wireless Controllers (mesh and lightweight wireless)
- Routing Protocols (mainly BGP and EIGRP)
- VPN (DMVPN, AnyConnect VPN, Site to Site VPN)
- Global MPLS Deployments
- Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Switches
- Cisco Routers and Cloud Routers
- Cisco Call Manager environment
- Next-Gen Firewalls (Fortinet and Sophos)
- SIEM and Log Analysis
- Cisco Identity Services Engine
- Network and Host based IPS
- Advanced Threat Protection
- Understanding of Vulnerability Scanning
- VSAT Basic understanding of Satellite components (BUC, LNB, Modem, Combiner/Splitter, Feedhorn, Reflectors, Polarization, Cross-Pole)
- Understanding of QoS concept for low-speed high latency links
- IP/Microwave Network
- Implement and optimize IP and Microwave network infrastructure and/or create links (point to point or point to multipoint) on Ethernet.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Software/Computer Technology Field Preferred) or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience administering cloud or infrastructure services across a large, diverse, server environment
- Technical proficiency including systems experience, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and issue management in a multi-platform environment
• In depth knowledge of IP networking, VPN’s, DNS, WINS, load balancing and firewall technologies • In depth knowledge of VMWare, HP, IBM, Cisco, Dell and other major vendor HW/SW offerings
- In Depth knowledge of system and network security best practices including governance
