What Does a Construction General Worker Do?

A construction general worker is responsible for carrying out a wide range of activities at construction sites. In other words, a construction general worker refers to one whose duty is to take up a variety of supporting tasks on construction sites.

Major Task and Responsibilities:

• Working collaboratively and liaising with other professionals that are involved in construction projects, such as carpenters, painters, masons, etc.

• construction worker also entails mixing cement, sand, and stone accurately, pouring grout, and concrete, and smoothing out poured concrete using finishing tools like trowels and shovels.

• may also be responsible for installing drain pipes, sewer pipes, and electrical wires and extensions.

• Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials to be used in construction processes

• Loads and unloads tools and building materials into work vehicles

• Uses hand tools, power tools, and heavy construction tools to complete construction projects

• Follows written and verbal instructions from the project managers or team leaders on the site.

• Assist the procurement team in the transportation of materials to the construction site

Skills and Requirements:

• Minimum five years of experience in interior fit-out industry/construction procedures

• Ability to communicate effectively, ENGLISH language is a must.

• Must have strong work ethics and a high level of honesty

• Proficient in more than one area of construction procedures

• Physically able to do the job outdoor

• High School diploma holder
