Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for physical trading of Minerals and Base Metals product (Copper, Coal, Iron Ore, Bauxite, Aluminum, Nickel)
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers in the international manufacturing space (Steel, Mining, Construction, Cable), purchasing and selling mineral resources into EMEA and MENA countries (in bulk)
- Monitor trends and LME market conditions to identify potential business opportunities and keep up to date with market insight, price changes and supply/demand models to increase physical trading opportunities
- Work closely with logistics, operations and supply chain staff to ensure safe shipment and transportation of metals and minerals products.
Key Qualifications / Experience:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience in physical trading of base metals and minerals.
- Knowledge of international metals and mining markets as well as the life cycle of sales contracts and logistics/operations aspect
- Solid understanding of creating and implementing risk management strategies
- Positive proven track record of profitability and building business relationships with Miners / smelters / steel plants / transformers in the EMEA.
- Proven network and portfolio of customers in the EMEA.
- Knowledge of hedging and futures instruments is a plus (Not mandatory).
