Global Ventures Hiring for Venture Capital Summer 2022 Internship – Post Graduates Job at Dubai Full Time

Last year’s program included 18 interns of 14 nationalities based across 10 cities and from 20+ universities, including Yale, HBS, MIT, Wharton, INSEAD, NYU and more.

As a member of our team, you will gain a holistic understanding of venture capital investing from sector mapping, deal origination, diligence and execution to value creation in portfolio companies. You will work collaboratively with our team to evaluate and execute investment opportunities and drive growth within our portfolio companies.

The internship program will include a training program, a lecture series by industry leaders and a mentorship program. Previous guest lecturers included David Fialkow (General Catalyst Partners), Ramez Shehadi (Facebook MENA), Alan Patricof (Greycroft), Chris Rogers (Lumia), Mudassir Sheikha (Careem) and Ronaldo Mouchawer (Souq), amongst others.

Global Ventures is a fast-paced and constantly changing environment, which promises an immersive introduction to the world of venture capital. A good fit will find reward in an unstructured environment where individuals own their actions and have an outsized impact.

As this is a virtual internship, all candidates will be required to have access to a laptop and internet connection to take part in the program. Weekly engagement and collaboration will take place using remote working tools such as Slack, Zoom and Notion amongst others. Please note that as the majority of the team is based in the UAE, working hours will fall within this time zone.

Your Responsibilities

• • Researching various sectors and subsectors within our target verticals, writing reports and providing deep-dive analyses.
  • Managing deal evaluation process including financial and competitive analysis, market sizing and commercial due diligence. Preparing all internal investment recommendations to the Investment Committee.
  • Managing deal execution including structuring and legal workstreams.
  • Working closely with portfolio companies to drive value creation initiatives and manage reporting, oversight, and operations.
  • Contributing to fund marketing efforts which are directed to both our external community and to our investors.

Your Profile

• Pursuing a Postgraduate degree or Alumni
• 2-4 years’ work experience
• Proven passion around start-ups, technology or investments
• Excellent MS Office and financial analysis skills
• Proven and engaged leader in academics, volunteer work or extra-curricular activities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical abilities
