Your Role
Our UAE studio is currently seeking a Junior Interior Designer with a background in hospitality, residential or corporate interiors project, and a passion for design. In this position, you will collaborate with our Design Directors and design leadership on a variety of exciting projects across the MENA region.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate on hospitality and residential interiors projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, and design development
- Resolve complex technical and design issues
- Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents
- Participate in selection of furniture systems and specifications
- Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
- Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
- Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
Your Qualifications
- 2 – 5 years related interior design experience, with a background in hospitality, residential or corporate interiors.
- Strong knowledge of the design process, including FF&E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials.
- Experienced in test fitting and space planning.
- Conceptual design skills.
- Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development.
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding graphic presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max preferred.
- Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
Your Design Technology Qualifications
Essential
- Deep knowledge and experience in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery.
- Understanding of collaboration within the BIM context, including cloud-based markups, consultant coordination and clash detection.
- Familiarity with Real-Time Visualization development within the context of BIM, specifically in the use of Enscape and/or Twinmotion with Revit and Rhino.
Desirable
- Understanding of and experience in Rhinoceros for design authoring.
- Visual Scripting Familiarity and some experience with Computational Design applications such as Grasshopper and/or Dynamo.
- Understanding of the capabilities and application of Information Management tools such as Aconex, Asite, Newforma, etc.
- Working knowledge in the use of VR walkthroughs and panoramas for client presentations, consultant coordination and internal design reviews.
