Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for Account Executive Life Health to work in the Life Europe, LatAm & MENA based in our Dubai office.
Your Role
Key responsibilities:
Managing client relationships through:
- Understanding the financial and risk management needs of the client and developing solutions/ products to meet those needs;
- Managing the financial position of the client account to maximise profit;
- Monitoring, retaining and developing each client subject to pricing/profitability targets;
- Providing input into annual planning (operational and financial) and reporting cycle on accounts;
- Calculating and updating mathematical and other reserves
- Keeping up to date with industry and company developments affecting the client;
- Ensuring the required service levels are being given to the client;
- Adhering to standard treaty wordings;
- Issuing well-presented quotes to clients.
Enhancing and promoting the Life Health Marketing Strategy by:
- Contributing to defining marketing and pricing strategy;
- Working in alignment with marketing strategy;
- Building their own and Gen Re’s profile through being actively involved in corporate events and publications;
- Identifying new opportunities and developing new business;
- Maintain good relationships with reinsurance buyers;
- Representing Gen Re Life Health at professional meetings;
- Creating and delivering presentations, writing articles to advance Gen Re’s brand and agenda.
Cooperation across the Group through:
- Providing and seeking advice to/from other parts of the Group;
- Looking for opportunities for other parts of the Group;
- Assisting the marketing efforts of other parts of the Group.
Your Profile
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Actuarial Sciences or similar qualification
- Several years of experience in the reinsurance business, especially in relation to business development, client management, pricing and market trends
- Proven ability to understand and put together reinsurance solutions for client’s risk, liquidity and solvency problems.
- An understanding of the end to end risk chain from insurer to reinsurer and the ability to think creatively and resolve challenges arising from all areas of the business be that actuarial, operational, underwriting or claims.
- Competency in looking for solutions which consider the bigger picture and longer term benefits.
- High level of numeracy and ability to understand complex issues, analytical skills
- Fluent in English; Arabic and French language skills are a plus
- Team player, flexibility, hands on mentality
