GEMS Wellington Academy Al Khail is a Premium National Curriculum for England School, located in the rapidly expanding Dubai Hills development. About the Role:

We present an exciting opportunity to play an important role in the development of our School and are looking for an outstanding SENCO who is excited to join our team of educators at GEMS Wellington Academy School, Al Khail, Dubai starting in January 2023.

The successful candidate will be an experienced SENCO who is excited to join our world-class school and who is driven to provide educational support at an exceptional level.

You will be responsible for leading and managing the daily running of the Student of Determination Provision, implementing the School’s Aims and Values whilst contributing to the ethos of the school (with regard to inclusion and safeguarding). Ensuring that all students with barriers to learning are appropriately assessed and supported to ensure full access to the curriculum. You ill also lead on the implementation and management of effective processes for monitoring, evaluating and developing SofD provision. Liaising closely and reporting directly to the Director of Inclusion to ensure a co-ordinated approach to students’ needs.

The successful candidate will have:

• Solid and demonstrable experience within a SENCO position or as an SEN teacher within a high performing department
• A certified teaching qualification, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent (PGCE/PGDE must be accompanied by a subject relevant Bachelor’s Degree)
• Additional qualification or specialism within SEN support
• The desire to provide outstanding teaching and learning
• An aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
