Key Responsibilities
Develop and support Inclusive practice
Create, drive and regularly review an action plan with clear targets, time-scales and success criteria that is reflective of the Inclusion targets on the school development plan and the Inclusive education improvement plan
Lead and coordinate the referral system for all phases
Support all staff in understanding the needs of the students of determination
Be an active member of the Inclusive Education Support team and the Inclusive Education Action Team
Develop and coordinate professional development opportunities for LSA, LA, parent and staff training and evaluate impact
Support with the interpretation of specialist assessment data to inform practice
Lead SENDCo surgeries where appropriate
Support with parent meetings where needed
Support with the creation of alternative pathways and individual timetables for students
Support staff in creating a stimulating learning environment for Inclusive teaching and learning
Support in ensuring the Infinity Zone is a stimulating learning environment for teaching and learning
Keep up to date with relevant research and theories in order to ensure that innovative approaches are developed to insure Inclusive practice for students of determination
Behaviour Support
Create, coordinate and monitor student behaviour plans
Create behaviour programmes for students
Undertake classroom observations to support staff with the behaviour management of individual students
Play a key role in SENDCo surgeries for students on behaviour plans
Provide non crisis intervention support to LSAs and teaching staff
Develop and coordinate PD for LSA, LA, parent and staff training with regards to behaviour management and ABA techniques and evaluate impact
Links with the wider community
Develop relationships and create a database of services available in the community for students of determination and their families
Act as the link with the External SEND providers (speech / OT) who work within school
Organise the schedule for room usage for external provider visits
To ensure all correct documentation is in place for external SEND providers entering the school premises
Maintain current knowledge of assessment and treatment techniques, criminal justice systems, and community resources using in-service training, seminars, workshops, and publications
The successful candidate will have:
B.Ed or subject related degree
Experience of working with students with SEND
The ability to share your outstanding practice
Must have the ability to work well in a team and with other colleagues
ABA, CBT or other recognised behaviour adaptation training
Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents
