Job OverviewThe Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire logistics operations, ensuring that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. This role involves managing the movement of vehicles, coordinating with suppliers, monitoring inventory levels, and optimizing logistics processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. The role involves planning and overseeing the whole process of the logistics operations. Responsibilities Plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.Coordinate and monitor the complete logistics operations.Ensure that the supply chain is efficient and effective throughout the complete process. Implement strategies to optimize inventory and reduce time waste. Coordinate transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.Develop and implement logistics strategies and procedures to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality. Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.Lead and manage the logistics team, including training, and performance management.Negotiate with suppliers and logistics partners to secure advantageous terms.Monitor and manage the flow of vehicles and parts from suppliers to dealerships across the GMGT business ensuring optimal stock levels and accurate records.Work closely with the sales, service, and parts departments to ensure timely delivery and availability of vehicles and components.Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and transport companies, negotiating contracts and resolving any issues that arise.Prepare and present regular reports on inventory levels, transportation costs, and operational performance to dealership management.Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms.Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost efficiency in all logistics activities.Analyse and report on logistics costs, identifying areas for cost reduction.Ensure compliance with local and international logistics regulations, including customs procedures.Maintain and enforce safety standards within logistics operations.Conduct regular audits of logistics activities to ensure compliance with company policies.Plan the transportation of vehicles to and from various dealership locations, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols.Liaise with transportation companies, suppliers, and other external partners to manage logistics operations effectively.Prepare and manage logistics documents, including shipping records, delivery notes, and customs documentation as required.Develop regular reports on logistics activities, vehicle status, and inventory levels for management review. Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilize sound judgment in decision making.
