Description:
> To assists in the implementation and upkeep of the Safety Management System and will be required to conduct regular ship inspections to ensure compliance to the statutory requirements of the International Safety Management (ISM) code and International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code.
> Alert to analyze risks and ensures compliance to the organization’s risk management framework.
> Promotes and develops a culture of continuous improvement in pursuit of organizational objectives.
> Expected to possess a sound understanding, knowledge and experience of ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, Maritime Labor Convention Marine Operations, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OSHAS 18001 requirements.
> Will be to liaise directly with the vessel owner, respond to any charter or technical and operational questions.
> Participate in the appointment of agencies and follow-up with them in order to ensure timely disbursements and invoicing for owner’s husbandry matters.
> Required to supervise operations and monitor vessel condition and ship’s staff compliance with management policies, international, state or local Maritime regulations.
> Responsible for maintenance, repairs, planned maintenance and modifications to the vessels’ hull and machineries.
> Plan, coordinate and execute inspections and dry dockings of the vessels.
> Follow up on the performance of the vessels and arrange corrective actions to be carried out when necessary.
> To ensure all spares and equipment’s are in place and accordingly coordinate internally with purchase for order.
