The Role of Manager, Design and Construction – Middle East and Africa:

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Manager, Design and Construction – MEA, to join our Four Seasons Corporate Office team in Dubai
This role reports to the Vice President Design and Construction – Middle East and Africa and will be responsible for project support of design, architecture and construction for new build, adaptive re-use, conversion, and major CAPEX projects within the region. Decision making, problem solving, and project design development/management necessary to keep each project on schedule, on budget, and to resolve differences between stakeholders are main responsibilities of this position. This role also supports the Director, Strategy, and Integration with the coordination of Department initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Providing project support to the Vice President and Regional Project Leads Assisting Project Leads in coordinating with internal stakeholders Supporting the preparation of project area programs Assembling the recommended Consultant lists, with the guidance of Project Leads Coordinating design reviews from concept through construction document phases to ensure compliance with Four Seasons design standards Reviewing shop drawings, material samples, and all relevant key project documentation Managing project updates Participating in and contributing to development and maintenance of brand standard documents Supporting the Director Strategy and Integration in coordinating internal Design and Construction initiatives Facilitating collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Working on special projects as required

Our Ideal Manager, Design and Construction candidate will have:

A degree in Architecture, Engineering or Design, licensed/registered professional status (i.e., Licensed Architect, Professional Engineer), and LEED certification is preferred. You should have a minimum of 5 years’ post-secondary project experience, have a good grasp of design and construction principles, and ideally you will have knowledge and experience in hospitality design.
The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of construction and design process within the luxury segment of hospitality, solid understanding of hotel planning principles, the ability to coordinate and cross-reference design drawings from multiple disciplines, fluency with architectural, engineering and design industry terminology and practices, and possess various computer skills including CAD/other drafting software, creative software, Microsoft Office skills, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
This role requires a team player with a strong initiative, self-motivation, excellent critical thinking ability, who can work on and prioritize multiple projects and adapt well to changing priorities, be a creative problem solver, and have exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity, with the ability to navigate through challenging situations with composure and professionalism.
Travel will be required in this role based on project status, expected 20% of your time.
