Job Summary: Looking for a Senior Accountant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Job Key Details:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity as well as timeliness of financial transactions and reports
- Reconcile account balances and bank statements to maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets as well as cash flow statements
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data, ensure proper allocation and reporting
- Conduct regular internal audits to identify potential discrepancies and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts as well as variance analysis
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, review their work and offer constructive feedback
- Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals, adjustments as well as reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies and regulations
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices, and implement necessary adjustments to accounting processes and procedures as required
Job Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field of study
- CPA or other relevant certification will be a great advantage
- Should have several years of experience working as an accounting supervisor, financial controller, chief or senior accountant
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards as well as regulations
- Must be proficient in using accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis and financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Should be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Must have good knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Should be currently in the UAE
