1. Organisation Unit Purpose (why does the unit exist? What is the contribution of the unit to the overall business strategy?)
The trading desk within Global Markets & Treasury takes proprietary positions within approved limits in various asset classes in order to achieve high returns to contribute the Group’s P&L. In addition to taking their own positions traders support internal business areas by providing expert knowledge of their asset class and by helping the structuring desk manufacture products for customers. Asset classes traded within the Trading Desk are FX & Rates, Options.
2. Job Purpose (Why does the job exist? What is the value delivered by the job holder to the unit?)
To contribute to the Structured Trading team pnl and additionally have an individual target of AED15-25m by taking proprietary positions within approved limits. This role also allows the trader to manufacture products working with the Structuring team which in turn allows Sales in particular, to aggressively quote to clients to win deals as there is normally two or three counterparty banks quoting for these lucrative trades.
Take proprietary positions from internal desks (Sales) and external clients. To be a market maker to our stakeholders.
Train junior members as appropriate.
Customer interaction as appropriate.
Provide efficient and competitive pricing.

Trading profit to meet yearly budget target (approx AED15-25m)
Daily/Monthly/Yearly income reports from Treasury Finance
Trading non linear products and derivatives to achieve the budgeted target.
Support the ENBD / EI sales and Structuring/Research and using appropriate communication skills. This support will range from market commentary, pricing and manufacturing products subject to market conditions.
Feedback from Sales & Structuring Desk Head.
Competitive pricing to ensure no missed deals
Written and verbal communication to the desk members. Provide daily market updates/commentary at the appropriate market meetings.
Quote competitive and quick pricing when asked by Sales & Structuring desk
Actively support and contribute to the international branches flow.
Feedback from the intl branch sales
Work closely with the sales to cater to client flow requirements
