Emerson Hiring for Tax Manager Job at Dubai Full Time

The Tax Manager will work as part of the Worldwide Tax Team to cover all the tax aspects of the business in Middle East and Africa (MEA), this role gives a detailed insight into the business in the region and is important to the management of tax risks in this growing and developing area.

Your role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• To review US GAAP tax provisions on a quarterly basis in advance of US GAAP reporting.
• To review tax accrued in budget.
• To answer US queries (Emerson tax department)
• To report tax position to Emerson US tax department as part of their annual control visits – requires coordination with local finance directors. Emerson requires that all current and deferred taxes for US GAAP can be reconciled back to local country GAAP accounts and to tax returns.
• To review returns prepared by external providers for all Emerson MEA entities. Will cover annual corporate income tax returns and annual and ad-hoc reviews of VAT and WHT returns across the region.
• To review US tax reporting questionnaire for MEA entities.
• To coordinate preparation of MEA Transfer Pricing Documentation and contribute to development of policy in coordination with Automation Solutions US tax department.
• To review tax aspects of MEA contracts, when raised by local finance or by the contract execution/legal team. This is an important and growing area.
• To assist with review of VAT implementation in the region, and with management of VAT compliance
• To support the MEA Tax Director as required with special tax projects

What do I need to be considered for this role?

• Qualified Accountant and tax adviser (CA, CPA or equivalent)
• Self-motivated, credible with senior management
• Awareness of tax issues, good business acumen
• Appreciation of local tax and statutory accounting issues
