As a Financial Controller you will be leading a finance function for the region consisting of UAE, Oman, Yemen & Lebanon and play an important role in supporting the finance processes for Emerson Automation Solutions. You will be responsible for the financial reporting and analysis for the business in these territories.
You will also have exposure to a broad range of tasks and report into MEA CFO with a strong dotted line reporting into the Regional General Manager.
What will be my primary responsibilities in this role:
- Business Partnering with active support to the regional leadership team for day-to-day business as well as long term strategic decision making.
- Complete ownership of Local In-Country value Add (ICV) plans currently in UAE.
- Financial ownership of Central Region’s legal entities and their financial statements, ensuring consistent application of accounting policies and internal controls in collaboration with world area team and various business unit finance teams.
- Produce and maintain relevant supporting information to enable the reporting of orders, sales, headcount, leases, trade working capital ratios and others, as required.
- Preparation, consolidation and joint ownership of monthly rolling-forecast, financial planning and annual budgeting process based on Emerson Planning Calendar.
- Primary contact for the Emerson accounting & reporting group, statutory & internal audits.
- Review account reconciliations: validate the reasonableness of account balances, ensure support for open items, document action plans, track and resolve aged items, and bring up pending issues as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining a relationship with banks, ownership of authorized signatories, authorizing transactions online, and preparing cash flow statements.
- Review and approve monthly/Quarterly VAT tax returns, annual tax calculation and reporting
- Maintain working relationships with:
- VP/GM/country leaders: update them with periodic financial results summary and variance analysis
- Business Unit and MEA HQ Finance team: collaborate on all financial and reporting matters
- Back offices (Manila & Pune): integrate them into our financial processes
- HR: processing Payroll, Sales Bonus Plans, final settlement
- Ensure completion of Annual KPMG audit with nil noncompliance comments by corporate due date.
- Drive Company Policies & procedures (including Internal Controls/ SOX Compliance) and continuous Improvement.
What do I need to qualify for this role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Equivalent
- Qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- 7+ years’ experience within a US GAAP and/or IFRS reporting
- 10 years of Work Experience in Finance Function at a managerial position within large global organization
- Working experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems and Hyperion Financial Management Systems
