Project Engineer with guidance from Lead Engineer is responsible for technical execution of specific portions the power and water project. Main tasks given to Project Engineer are: DCS system software installation and power up checks, control loops commissioning and troubleshooting, modification of control logic and graphics, plant startup, preparation of design and commissioning documents. Moreover, Project Engineer will be working with customer to coordinate technical matters, attend meetings, do site surveys and service works on Ovation System.

Your role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Planning and management

• To review the project scope and schedule along with the Lead Engineer.
• To assist Project Manager to prepare progress report for customer.
• To prepare site commissioning plan which include schedule and detailed tasks along with Lead Engineer.
• To coordinate work between multiple internal and external teams and disciplines.

Customer relations

• To work along with lead engineer and communicate with customer for specific technical queries, clarifications, and discussions.
• To submit design documents to customer for review and approval. Manage customer expectations and promptly respond to comments.
• To perform Factory Acceptance test with customer and work project team members to ensure all punch lists are closed in a timely manner.
• To perform site commissioning activities, prepare progress reports to ensure smooth commissioning.

Technical delivery

• To follow designed system architecture including DCS networks, fieldbuses, datalinks to third party devices and cybersecurity requirements. Do necessary field modifications when required.
• To plan and perform detailed site survey to collect all required information from site.
• To perform input data review and seek necessary clarifications from customer.
• To review field installed devices specifications to identify and select required IO module types and signal converters.
• To review P&IDs and process flow diagrams to plan IO assignments to meet redundancy levels.
• To work with application engineers to make sure that software application meets project scope. review graphics and control strategies.
• To define the database for all third-party communication data links. Interface with the customer as needed to obtain necessary information.

Procurement and suppliers

• To perform acceptance tests, reviews, inspections, etc. for buyout items.
• To evaluate technical solution and products proposed by vendors Along with lead engineer.
• To coordinate with suppliers to verify contractual delivery of proposed solution, products, and services.

Quality Control

• To ensure quality of engineering deliverables.
• To be part of internal design reviews which include hardware design, application and control strategies design, network design, cybersecurity compliance, process simulation design, performance calculations design.

Proposals/Sales support

• To participate in proposal reviews, consult on technical queries, and provide overall support.
• To perform site walkdowns to support proposal team and define best solution

What do I need to be considered for this role?

• Degree in Engineering (Instrumentation & Control, Electrical or Electronics)
• 2-5 years of experience in process automation projects.
• Experience in configuration of automation system based on Ovation DCS is a plus.
• Good knowledge of automation in power generation sector with experience in commissioning of boiler, steam turbine, combustion turbines, desalination, and water/wastewater plants.
• Good knowledge and experience in:

DCS/PLC/SCADA control systems

Control Loops (4-20mA), field instruments (PIT, TIT, LS)

Datalink protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP-IP, IEC60870, IEC61850, OPC
