Job Purpose – Mission:
We specialize in engineering, manufacturing, and installing custom products for companies that are seeking technical expert advice and fit for purpose marine products for environmental, navigational, safety and security purposes.
We’re looking for a high performing, organized, detail-oriented, experienced Operations Support Engineer to join our growing, ambitious team. This role includes a combined aspects of the roles of administrative assistants, technical engineer, sales support and operations in order to perform their duties, ensuring that the back-office operations of the business are as effective and as efficient as possible.
What does the role involve?
As the Operations Support Engineer, you’ll be responsible on tasks which includes but are not limited to administrative, engineering, scheduling, logistics (export and import), and several universal responsibilities which requires velocity, accuracy and proper coordination.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Coordination between suppliers in Europe/UK to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Timely Preparation and release of Purchase Orders to all UK suppliers.
- Keep a track of deliveries and keep Clients informed on delivery schedules.
- Preparation of documents for export of goods outside of UK. Documents include Commercial Invoice, Delivery notes, Packing lists, etc.
- Work closely with transportation companies to ensure smooth in-country and outside of country deliveries.
- Proactively search for areas to improve internal and external operations.
- Sales support, estimation support – Preparation of 2D drawings and other technical documents (calculation, MAR, Compliance statements, etc.)
Experience & Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in same or similar position.
- Engineering’s degree is a must.
- Experience with European/UK companies in supply chain area is an advantage.
- Knowledge in logistics, supply chain, incoterms/export process and back-office operations.
- Ability to provide technical support to sales team. Experience in technical department/estimation department, product development, engineering design is an advantage.
- Knowledge in AutoCAD and designing tools is an advantage.
- Problem solving and analytical skills, detail-oriented, well organized and team player.
- Can efficiently and effectively work remotely and has good communications skills written and verbally.
- Advanced Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point).
