The brief is written with a purpose for a reason.The Purchasing Procurement sourcing leader is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies by Category Management principles, tracking metrics to reduce cost, negotiating contracts, and managing vendors. In addition, the Purchasing Manager ensures that clear requirements, forecast market trends, risk mitigation, and collaboration with stakeholders’ initiatives are in place. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESSuppliers Evaluation and Selection.Identifying reliable, value-enabling suppliers that meet the Company’s specifications and requirements to provide competitive pricing whilst ensuring an uninterrupted supply of goods and services.Ensure that suppliers are evaluated in an ongoing fashion to meet the company’s specified requirements.Procurement & contracting: Develop and execute sourcing and negotiation strategies by Category management principles regarding the cost-effective purchasing of MROS commodities.Establish supply agreements regarding contractable goods and services.Policies & Procedures: Establish and communicate procurement procedures, processes, and key performance areas for the purchasing department and monitor compliance with policies and procedures. ensuring work is conducted in a policy-compliant manner.The system enabled reporting and performance tracking. Through a mastery of the SAP Procurement system, ensure that the requirements of the Company are sourced and timeously delivered through SAP and Ariba-generated purchasing orders.Establish sourcing contracts within the SAP system regarding contractable purchases.Generate monthly management reports regarding key purchasing activities by making use of existing and developed SAP reports.Teamwork & Employee Excellence Enhance the work environment to promote and drive employee engagement and team effectiveness. Conduct annual performance appraisals and provide staff feedback regarding strengths, areas for improvement, and development opportunities. Establish KPIs for purchasing staff and ensure that these are aligned with the company’s strategy, mission, and vision. Complying with the group’s policies, HSE Management System, and Integrated Management System (ISO9001/14001/45001).Supporting the execution of Health, Safety, and Environment plans in the workplace according to HSE standards, company and country rules, and legal regulations.5. COMMUNICATIONInternal: Operational Units, Line Managers, Finance, Warehousing and Logistics External: Suppliers and other Government Departments.6. JOB COMPETENCIESDevelop standard working instructions/procedures for all Purchase activities for approval by the Chief Supply Chain Officer.7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLSBachelor’s degree in purchasing/supply chain management, Finance, or business administrationExperience within Steel manufacturing, metals, or heavy engineering.Preferred Experience:5 to 7 years of relevant purchasing and management experience in a Purchasing field ideally within heavy industrial manufacturing or Steel Industry. A track record of working as a buyer, category manager, sourcing, purchasing, and procurement management leading complex teams and dynamics.TECHNOLOGY AND SYSTEM TOOLS & EXPERIENCE:MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams, Success Factors, SAP Ariba, SAP ECC, MS PowerPoint 8.
