An exciting opportunity for a candidate with a solid background in freight forwarding in our Key Account Management department to join our team in the Dubai branch.

Operational Key Account Management (OKAM) is responsible to manage and improve the company’s interaction and relationship with existing high profile and potential customers thereby focusing on the business implementation, retention and development of those customers. The position is situated within the Air & Sea department.

• Interface between high profile accounts and operations to drive optimized service
• Manage and track operational excellence / best practice implementation together with BCM
• Business implementation (act as initial incubator)
• Continuous improvement and value adding services to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction

Roles and Responsibilities

Internal

• Monitoring operational performance and contribute to the client retention and development
• Initiate Operational Improvement plans and monitor the progress.
• Regular review and implementation of customer SOP’s, IOP’s and SLA’s
• Lead implementation and alignment with respective stakeholders
• Initiate and be part of internal + external MBR’s QBR’s and YBR’s
• Maintain error log and review root cause analysis ensure implementation of corrective and preventative action.
• Participate in task forces, strategic initiatives and collaborate on opportunities with other business units
• Managing and developing complex external and internal relationships. Acting as a ‘bridge’ between the Commercial Account Manager and the operations
• Responsible for the auto rating of all contractual rate sheets in CW1
• Any other duties/projects as assigned by Line Manager in order to meet business needs

External / Customer facing

• Managing client relations by regular contact to facilitate better understanding of customer needs, establish trust and serve as operational escalation contact.
• Discuss and formalize operational requirements
• Work on customer specific solutions and ensure customer satisfaction through design and implementation of said solutions.
• Serve as facilitator and single point of contact
• Execute specific customer defined functions for all modes of transport / import & export.
• Monitor all KPI’s and lead / participate in business reviews
• Define level of business Implementation required

Data Quality / KPI

• Lead time performance
• Evaluation of business trends
• Constant evaluations of opportunities and threats
• KPI dashboards for internal evaluation
• Formalise KPI indicators in cooperation with customer & account managers / product heads.
• Monitoring of internal compliance (Billing, Status updates etc.) – to address A/R, visibility etc.
• Business reviews for operational improvement
• Assist in preparation of business reviews by providing necessary KPI / operational / data insights.
• Attending of business reviews where requested.

Skills & Competencies

Work experience

• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in Logistics / Supply Chain / Account Management.

• Prior use of CargoWise One a definite plus

Language Skills

• English (reading, writing and verbal)

Computer Literacy

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).

Other Skills

• General industry knowledge of common carriers, freight payment and audit processes and supply chain
• Proven track record of account management. 3PL a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership and employee development skills – a “mentor.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills..
• Strong interpersonal, presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of the customer base and system capabilities
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic and patience.
