Job overview

Based in Dubai and reporting into the Market Procurement Head, the responsibility of the jobholder will be developing and executing the regional and local procurement and supplier strategies for specific spend categories as per company policies, procedures, and standards.

Securing optimal internal customer support as well as procurement activities for direct material and services to guarantee smooth production and sales to contribute to the bottom-line impact of the organization. An important focus lies on the professional interaction with suppliers and on compliance which includes our strong commitment to fulfil environmental, health and sustainability criteria.

What you can expect:

• Responsible for leading and delivering high quality, innovative and market intelligence-led category management across designated spend area securing availability of goods and services in the respective region.
• Develop and execute professional sourcing strategies for the assigned spend categories in ME Segment as well as execute constant market observation on price, supplier, market, product development and innovation. Align strategy with global category manager for global spend categories.
• Execute Contract and Supplier relationship management including supplier development and innovation
• Consolidate requirements and demands in category management from across ME as input for global category strategies. Ensure top-down and bottom-up alignment.
• Build working relationships with key stakeholders, other category teams, suppliers, and external partners.
• Lead strategic sourcing projects which secure the goods, works and services that most appropriately identify the addressed needs of the customers and users whilst ensuring value for money, compliance with relevant policy and procurement legislation and generating cashable and non-cashable efficiencies throughout the life of contracts
• Execute professional tenders (RFx) including establishing and negotiating contracts according to the defined sourcing strategy for a specific spend category
• Develop and certify the suppliers to assure quality of products and services delivered.
• Acts as focal point and first level of support for any supplier related quality requests at plant / market unit level.
• Upkeep the audit program and performs supplier audits in accordance and assesses proposed new suppliers.
• Perform supplier risk and performance management activities and monitor corresponding KPIs for relevant supplier pool at local level.
• Work with key suppliers to continually improve Quality performance.

What we expect:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably in engineering
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic sourcing and execution of professional tenders ideally in manufacturing, building material or construction industries
• Experience in contract and supplier relationship management is a must
• Strong commercial and financial awareness and wide specialist knowledge in supply chain and logistics
• An accomplished and highly skilled negotiator with a strong value chain and cost optimisation focus
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills both internally and externally.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English. Arabic language is a plus
• Effective leadership skills and a demonstrated track record in motivating and driving the performance of the team
• Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
