We are looking for an accomplished, dynamic, digitally savvy Freight Forwarding professional with full suite experience in managing freight forwarding operations.
Ideal candidate should be well versed with Shipping, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, including supplier and stakeholder management, tracking and monitoring of shipments / orders, import, export procedures, order processing, analysis and preparation of management reports in a competitive and multi-cultural environment.

• Lead and develop DFreight’s freight operations division with end-to-end responsibility for all freight transactions.
• Manage span of operational functions across Freight / Transportation / Import / Export / Logistics & Warehousing and Cross- Trade Shipments across all service areas and trade lanes.
• Drive development and implementation of internal and external operational improvement and manage operations to enhance efficiency and delivery of freight operations.
• Define, implement and monitor standard operating processes and KPI metrics to drive efficiency and productivity; analysing and improving operational processes to achieve productivity, quality, and cost and process efficiency.
• Ensure inter-departmental synergies, efficiencies and alignment proactively working with internal stakeholders to deliver best in class service.

• Pro-actively identify and structurally resolve performance gaps in collaboration with stakeholders across Customer Success, Product and Finance departments.
• Analyse trade lane profit and loss sheets, customer profitability, identify gaps vs. financial targets, focus on the bottom 10 accounts (based on accumulative GP) in collaboration with relevant financial controllers.

• Manage relationships with customers and vendors; build strategic relationship with exporters/importers, securing solution capabilities through network and relationship with the supply chain.
• Partner with external vendors including carriers, ground handling agent (GHA), airlines, truck suppliers, third-party labor supply, material handling equipment and facility related service providers.
• Direct and manage operational processes with optimal workflow structure and maximum efficiency.
• Continuously monitor digital platform adoption and usage, directing highest level of internal compliance to meet platform performance.
• Routinely conduct audits on closed files, BOE files, expenses paid for external service provider etc documenting, reporting and taking corrective measures as required.
• Continuously monitor and identify areas of improvement, root cause analysis, risk and performance management to achieve the department’s productivity levels and standards.
• Monitor and drive customer KPI’s to ensure levels of committed service are being delivered.
• Be the internal subject matter expert for sharing, educating and implementing operational excellence and best practices across the departments of the Operations division.
• Responsible to ensure that the Freight Operations team functions smoothly and efficiently, continuously monitoring the market and competition to ensure a culture of on-going and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or supply chain or a related field.
• Min 15 years’ experience in Logistics and Freight forwarding with the last 5 years in a lead Operations role.
• Proven experience in Ocean, Land and Air Logistics & strong knowledge in Freight Forwarding.
• In depth knowledge of Freight forwarding / Logistics software.
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Multitasker and strong organiser.
• Ability to communicate persuasively whilst demonstrating adaptability and empathy.
• Problem-Solving and able to work under pressure.
