Job Description

Cobblestone Energy is becoming the most advanced electricity trading company in the energy markets. You will be part of the dream team, a group of vibrant and talented individuals from all over the world working together to create something excellent. We are looking for driven and creative individuals that think both inside and outside the box and achieve fulfilment from contributing to an environment where ideas matter.

As part of our growth, we are moving further along the time horizon for power. We are expanding our activities from solely the auctions and the Intraday markets to the UK OTC forwards market. We are looking for a UK Power Trading Analyst to play a big part in this endeavor. As a team we already have a strong understanding of the UK fundamentals, which has made us a leader in the intraday markets. This expertise is something we want to leverage further

You will be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of trading strategies within the UK short – term trading team. You will be working with a trader and supported by an additional UK power analyst, a dedicated developer, as well as the rest of the wider business.

The incumbent will be tasked with overseeing the development of a comprehensive advanced analytics infrastructure for the purpose of delivering high value analytic solutions and/or tools to enable data-driven strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• You will be an owner of the overall P&L of the UK short term team, with the ability to also have your own individual book.
• To take speculative positions on the prompt curve, DA to MA.
• To generate P&L in line with the risk policy
• To be proactive and develop new trading strategies
• Work hand in hand with the other Analysts to improve our price forecasting models and strategies
• To share your expertise with the whole team

Requirements

• You have a strong quantitative background and at least 3-5 years of experience on the UK power markets.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
