Job Description
Cobblestone Energy is becoming the most advanced electricity trading company in the energy markets. You will be part of the dream team, a group of vibrant and talented individuals from all over the world working together to create something excellent. We are looking for driven and creative individuals that think both, inside and outside the box and achieve fulfilment from contributing to an environment where ideas matter.
As part of our growth, we are looking to expand into commodities other than power as well. We are are looking for an experienced Gas Market Analyst to lay the foundation of our gas trading business. As a team we have a strong understanding of the UK power fundamentals, which has made us a leader in the UK intraday markets. This expertise is something we want to leverage further to assist our ambitious growth plans with the help of experienced team members.
You will be responsible for building out our fundamental analytics for our global gas desk which will drive trading decisions. We shall initially focus on global relative value trading backed by deep and detailed fundamental analytics. As we continue to grow, we shall then add more micro regional relative value strategies to the portfolio. We intend to become market leaders in Global Gas Trading. Gas is and will remain for some time an important part of our energy mix during this green transition. You will be supported by our Trading and Tech teams, as well as the rest of the wider business.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head of Analytics to develop models and conceptual frameworks to lay the foundation of the gas desk.
- Conduct excellent quality analyses and closely monitor accuracy of analytical output over time.
- Develop tools to monitor market developments and efficiently disseminate information within the business.
- Effectively communicate views and findings to traders, other analysts, and relevant stakeholders.
- Working with departments within the company (Trading, Tech) to facilitate business needs
- Being up to date about leading-edge developments, analytical techniques, technologies, and tools in advanced analytics
- Upholding and living cultural values in your routine job
Requirements
- Consistently excellent performance in Analytics or trading in the European or global gas markets for at least 3 years, having contributed to business growth
- Strong analytical and statistical skills
- Programming (e.g. Python, Java, C++) skills are desirable but not mandatory.
- Resilience and a determination to succeed.
- Independent thinkers with a growth mindset.
- Very strong numerical, logical reasoning and analytical skills.
Job Location: The role will be located at our Corporate office in Dubai, UAE.
