We are now looking for a Scale Specialist, to join our team in Dubai and take responsibility for conducting all aspects of scale inhibitor evaluation, covering both laboratory and modeling methods. The scale specialist should be current with developments in scale testing methodology, chemistry, and deployment. In addition, the role will also require the provision of technical support to Sales and Marketing staff in the application areas of scale, and ensuring company standards in QESHA are met.

Responsibilities

• Recommend solutions based on laboratory evaluations of Scale Inhibitors
• Conduct scale prediction and scale modeling (eg scale squeeze modeling) as required
• Make sure all equipment is fully operational, calibrated, and maintained
• Plan and manage the scale portfolio, ensuring sustainability criteria are central to formulations
• Develop and maintain specifications and product properties. Provide product literature as required.
• Interface with production units, 3rd party suppliers, and Clariant Houston to co-ordinate R&D
• Ensure alignment between customer and company requirements
• Ensure all technical work is carried out in a structured way, meeting agreed on project goals and timelines
• Ensure quality of work meets agreed standards and work is effectively communicated
• Attend and present at customer meetings
• Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and technical exchanges. Prepare content as required.
• Provide internal and external training on the subject matter as required.
• Ensure that all lab activities are undertaken according to company HSE policy and Legislation
• Ensure that safety control measures are applied and PPE is worn
• Undertake workplace inspections, audits, and reviews of HSE policies and procedures

Requirements

• A minimum of BSc in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years experience, ideally with a focus on scale inhibition
• You take an analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving
• You are a team player with self-initiative and drive
• You value safety extremely highly and support a culture of transparency and trust
• Project management skills are considered one of your strengths
• You feel comfortable and confident in maintain professional communication with customers
• Good inter-personal and inter-cultural sensitivity skills coupled with fluent English
• You have experience with standard modeling software, formulation test methods, and field applications
