This role will be based in Dubai and will report to the Statutory Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate should have a background in AWS (Athena and S3), excel VBA and should be able to liaise between the accounting team and the Data Lake team (IT) on the monthly closing process under IFRS17.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead the month end IFRS17 closure process on monthly basis;
Act as the point of contact between IT and Accounting on the flow of the different data interfaces (ETL);
Provide relevant and accurate operational analysis on the validation tools;
Request from &/or co-ordinate with the Central Team enhancements to the validation tools;
Assist in the identification of issues arising from Manual Journal Vouchers, whether new or implemented;
Co-ordinate Change Request implementation with the Central Support teams, whether they originate from ME or impact ME processing;
Monitor Production SLAs and communicate lapses to the relevant Central Support teams ;
Responsible for investigating and resolving all other technical systematic matters;
Proactively help to drive forward process and procedure improvements;
Participation in ad-hoc projects
Key Skills and Knowledge
Experience Required
Min. 3 years of experience working on AWS Athena and AWS S3
Certification demonstrating proficiency in:
Big Data Analytics
SQL programming (ideally Trino)
Python programming (bonus, not indispensable)
(AWS certification would be ideal)
Hands on experience of ETL management
Excel VBA Programming Certification.
Fair knowledge of accounting
Results oriented individual with a drive for continuous improvement and proven success in achieving goals.
